I gave my cat a very small amount of Evo and within an hour she was vomiting and straining to use the litterbox. After several hours of the same, we took her to the vet. She underwent emergency surgery because it was suspected that she had swallowed something that didn’t show up on the x-ray. Nothing was found, so it must have been the Evo. Many $$$$ later, I have learned to only give my cat a few pieces to start with if I give her a new food. Use Evo with caution!

Innova pet foods, the maker of Evo, have been found to test positive for Acetaminophen (Non aspirin pain reliever) which is —-TOXIC TO CATS —-. This information is according to many online sources. To read more about Acetaminophen contamination try this search on Google: innova+acetaminophen.

We were very disappointed when we came across this information as this cat food costs a lot of money and yet was not safe for our cats. We had fed several bags of Evo to our cats so we contacted the folks at Innova for some reassurance but there was no response.

We have since switched to Halo Cat Food. All ingredients in Halo are from the USA and our cats love it.

I don’t mean to imply by my one star rating that it isn’t a great product. I just wanted to point out that it’s not for every cat. One of my cats did fine on this food, and the other had very bad diarrhea for over a week until I switched to another food. My vet said that this was not uncommon and that, like people, all digestive tracts are made differently. If your cat has a problem on this food for more than a couple of days, it’s probably best try another.

I have been trying new foods for our 3 cats. I have been researching the healthiest ingredients, most digestable, etc.. I did buy this cat food at my local health food store, and the cats ate it, but it gave them lots of diarhea, and smelly farts…. I have changed foods to Life’s Abundance Cat Food by Trilogy. I am noticing improved energy in them, and they seem to eat more now. Like any change with your pet, it takes time…hope my review helped.

I used to feed Wellness because not a lot of places sold Evo. But before I moved to the US I fed them Evo whenever I could afford it (trial pack for $20+). So as soon as I found out where to get Evo, I drove downtown and to my surprise, it was even cheaper than Wellness!! I also feed stray cats and I found it to be cheaper to feed them Evo too. Although it costs alot for a bag but you feed less, and so it lasts long.

5lbs of Wellness lasts for at most 3 weeks- $20

6lbs of Evo lasts for 1 month 2 weeks- $19

    You do the math!

I was thinking to myself, why is my fatter cat so active lately, she used to spend most of her time with her eyes closed under the coffee table. One day I also noticed that she weight lighter. First thought wasn’t the food, I thought there was something wrong with her. Turns out I was just super paranoid, of course it was the food! -_-

I recommend Evo to anyone I know, even the one who cannot afford because really, you are paying alot upfront, but you feed less and it lasts a lot longer. I know that because I used to feed stray cats commercial foods from Walmart (the cheapest like Purina, 9 lives, friskies, whiskas). You may pay a little more but commercial food is basically poison. Sometimes I don’t even know to feed the cats or not, it’s like they’re better off without it. Whereas Evo is like the best food out there, followed by Wellness.
